About the East Coast Trail
The East Coast Trail (ECT) is a popular long-distance hiking trail in north-eastern Canada, in the Newfoundland and Labrador province. It starts at Topsail Beach and then heads to Cappahayden going along the coast of the Avalon Peninsula, along the Atlantic Ocean. Notably, it also passes through St Johns, the capital of Newfoundland. The ECT passes through many historic fishing towns, and the trail itself consists of beautiful coastal landscapes - fjords, rocky cliffs, and coastal meadows and forests rich in wildlife and marine life.
