About the La Cloche Silhouette Trail
The La Cloche Silhouette Trail is a multi-day backpacking route in Killarney Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada. Stretching roughly 78 km (48 miles) in a loop, the trail winds through some of the park’s most rugged terrain within the striking La Cloche Mountains. Although it is one of the park’s most famous backcountry routes, the trail quickly leaves developed areas behind and enters a remote wilderness landscape characterized by white quartzite ridges, boreal forests, and dozens of clear, cold lakes. Completing the full loop typically takes 5–7 days, depending on pace and campsite reservations. The terrain is often challenging, with steep climbs, exposed rock, and rugged footing, making it best suited to experienced backpackers comfortable with backcountry navigation and variable weather.
