About the St. Olav's Way
Pilegrimsleden (other called the St. Olav's Way, Old King's Road, or the Pilgrim's Route), refers to all the pilgrimages that end in the Nidaros Cathedral, Trondheim, in Northern Norway. Although there are other ones as well, the most popular pilgrimage routes include the Gudbrandsdalsleden, St. Olavsleden, Kystpilegrimsleia, Valldalsleden, Borgleden, Østerdalsleden, Nordleden, Romboleden, Tunsbergleden. Almost all of them pass exclusively through Norway with the exception of the St. Olavsleden which starts in Sweden. It's a very old pilgrimage, dating back to at least the year 1021. In recent years, it's become more and more popular with the rise of people who are doing long-distance hiking trails.
